February is Black History Month, and while I as a white woman can’t begin to understand the Black experience, I can do my part to educate myself and my young and old patrons alike – and to actively work toward an anti-racist future. To that end, here are some book titles available at the library this month and throughout the year.

“The Hate U Give" “If Beale Street Could Talk” “A Tree Grows in Brooklyn” “The Color Purple” and “The Help” are all books for Young Adults and Adult readers.

The library has biographies to read for Black History Month. Subjects are Rosa Parks, Martin Luther King, Hank Aaron, Harriet Tubman to mention a few.

Reminder that the “Blizzards of Books” reading promotion is almost half over with March 22nd the final date to hand in reading lists.
