Library news
The week of September 27-October 3rd, 2020 is Banned Books Week. Libraries across the U.S and the world bring the topic of banning books to the attention of the public. Have you read a banned book? Maybe it is one of your favorite books. Last year there were 377 attempts to ban books across the U.S. in some libraries. Some were successful. That means that those people in those libraries are not able to read any material they choose. Take time this week to google Banned Books week and if you find a book you have read on the list comment to the Lake Andes Carnegie Library Facebook page with the book name or a selfie with the book would be great.
The Lake Andes Library will be closed on October 10th and October 12th for our employees to enjoy the three day weekend.
The collection of 2020 Census information ends on September 30th at midnight. The library staff is there to help you submit the information on-line until 7:00 on that date. Drawing for the i-pad will take place at 5:00 on October 2nd.
