Rail to Trail update.

Will the trail ever be built? The facts are, you decide. The Gov does not support. Commissioners from Bon Homme and Charles Mix do not support. Most of 200 landowners don't support. The eight towns involved are not taking interest, I think they realize the only thing the bikers will be looking for is a clean bathroom.

On March 20 I traveled to Pierre to visit with Transportation Sec. and laywers from department. What I learned was the project has many hurdles to overcome. I was reminded that other rails have been railbanked and no trail has been built. No action has been taken to remove trees, rails and ties. One of the major hurdles will be when they ask landowners to sign easement to operate in corn and bean fields.
