LET'S TALK HUNTING AND FISHING AT THE PARK
Have you ever found yourself in this situation? The Labor Day weekend is coming up and you are planning on doing something like being outdoors, enjoying the sun, maybe fishing or even riding the lawn mower around the lawn. You considered the weekend as a great chance to catch up on things that you want to do. You may have made a big plan to do something and even talked it up to everyone.
It’s now your big weekend and your other half walks in and says, “Let’s go into Wagner and join everyone at the Festival In The Park. They always have some pretty neat things at those booths and I want to check them out. Besides, I heard the the entertainment was going to be great and there is more to do there than shop so let’s spend the day there! Sound good, right?” Of course you will quickly realize it is always in your best interest to say, “You bet, let’s go!” Or in other words, you can tough it out, as you really don’t want to look at any crafts and your really don’t care about how good the music is going to be. You will go along and sit somewhere in the shade and wait it out til it is time to leave. Before you know it, you end up surprised!
You spot the table called: “Lets Talk Hunting and Fishing” with Roger Wiltz, writer of Rog’s NimRod. His discussion table is located in the shade and you can talk hunting and fishing to your hearts content, along with others doing the same. You may even enjoy it so much you might decide to ask if he has a book to sell so you can continue to enjoy the stories at a later time this winter. This is your chance to ask all kinds of hunting and fishing questions and listen to some great stories about the topic. Get a good seat and enjoy! There should be plenty of room to gather around the table and enjoy the afternoon as he will be there from 1:00-3:00 on Sunday afternoon, Sept. 1.
Before you know it, you will probably start to notice some great sounds coming from the entertainment area and then find yourself wondering over there to catch one of the many great entertainment acts performing. Maybe you will check out the honor program for veterans or take in some free watermellon. Be careful though, as you might decide some of those food vender trucks look interesting and who is to say you won’t see something that catches your eye at one of the vender tables.
One problem though, you may end up having to convince your other half that you need a little more time than originally thought because there is just to much to see and do at the “Festival In The Park”. Check it out to see if any of this turns out to be true!
