Wicked Hair and Fashion Co. in Lake Andes is owned and operated by Samantha Frederick. Samantha has owned and operated the salon for just shy of 11 years. Wicked Hair and Fashion Co. has been in its main street location (357 E Main St) for the past seven years.
The salon was formerly known as Wicked Weave Salon & Boutique. Samantha changed the salon’s name after attending a color/business summit where she learned a lot about rebranding which led her to the name change. Samantha is not alone in her establishment. Stylist, Keva Lindquist, rents a booth from Samantha and runs her own business within Wicked Hair and Fashion Co.
With the exception of a brief period of time where Samantha thought about becoming an English teacher, she has always wanted to become a cosmetologist. She would not say that there is anything about her profession that really interests her in particular besides the way it makes her feel when she is able to make others feel better. Samantha feels very lucky to be able to have a career that allows her to be creative, beautify people and make others happy. Samantha enjoys being a business owner because of her being able to only have to be in charge of her schedule and being able to make her own hours. She is able to have a career and be flexible enough to be available for her kids’ and family’s activities.
Currently, Wicked Hair and Fashion Co. offers haircuts, colors, facial waxing, pedicures, paraffin dips, and massage therapy. Something that is new and unique to the salon is that Samantha just received her massage license. Her number one service right now is the new mini stress relief massage sessions that she offers. A 25-minute massage is on sale for $25 and includes a nice warm heated massage table, peppermint eucalyptus epsom salt-soaked hot towel foot wraps, foot/leg compressions, cold eye pack, scalp brushing and head/ neck/shoulder massage.
Products and service are always changing at the salon. The salon carries clothing, purses, jewelry, hair care, body care, and a variety of other items. There is always something new and different to stop by and see.
Samantha does not currently have set hours. She is available by appointment Monday through Friday with the exception of special events such as weddings or proms she can be available on Saturdays.
Wicked Hair and Fashion Co. is proud to be a business in Lake Andes, which is Samantha’s hometown. Her business helps the Lake Andes community by just existing. Small towns need all the businesses they can get. Samantha really loves everything about Lake Andes. She especially enjoys the wonderful people that call Lake Andes home and Cahoy’s grocery store.
Thank you, Wicked Hair & Fashion Co., for being this month’s featured Lake Andes business. Congratulations on your 11 years in business and to many more.
