LADY THUNDER ROLL PAST KIMBALL/WHITE LAKE 46-14

Coach Niewenhuis was recognized during the Thunder's last home game of the season.

The AC/DC Lady Thunder put together a dominant defensive performance Thursday night, February 19, earning a 46-14 victory over KWL at Dakota Christian.

AC/DC set the tone early, jumping out to a 14-4 lead after the first quarter. The Lady Thunder continued to apply pressure in the second, holding KWL to just one point in the period to take a commanding 24-5 halftime lead.

The second half brought more of the same as AC/DC steadily extended its advantage. The Lady Thunder led 39-11 after three quarters and closed out the game with a 46-14 final.

Lily Muckey led the offensive effort with 20 points, while also contributing six rebounds and four assists. Halle Olson added 10 points and filled the stat sheet with five rebounds and a teamhigh seven assists.

Nakayah Long and Audrey DeHaan each scored fifive points. Long also recorded fifive rebounds and fifive assists, while DeHaan was a force defensively with seven steals. Lilly Niewenhuis added six steals as the Lady Thunder defense created consistent pressure throughout the contest.

AC/DC shot 19-of-44 from the fifield for 43 percent and went 6-of-13 from the free-throw line. The Lady Thunder controlled the boards with 25 total rebounds and forced numerous turnovers, finishing with 18 of their own.
