On Thursday, October 12th the Red Raider volleyball team took on the AC/DC Thunder and came away with the win with scores of 25-20, 25-9, and 25-18.

Outside hitters Ashlyn Koupal and Kya Kjeldgaard led the attack throwing down 10 and 9 kills respectively. Middle hitter Shona Kocer added 8 in the win. Setter Macy Koupal racked up 32 assists in the match. M. Koupal led all servers with 18 points/8 aces along with A. Koupal earning 10 points/2 aces, Kjeldgaard added 8 points/2 aces and Madi Knebel had 7 points. In the backcourt Knebel and Kjeldgaard each scrambled for 11 digs, A. Koupal and M. Koupal each added 7 while Braxton Nedved and Aubrey Medricky picked up 4 in the win. Up at the net Kocer and R. Medricky each earned 2 blocks in the match.

The JV team tallied another win with scores of 25-16 and 25-17. Outside hitter Hannah Holzbauer led all hitters with 6 kills while R. Medricky and Brylie Link each had 4 in the win. Setter Braxton Nedved dished out 15 assists. Link led behind the service line earning 11 points/1 ace, Libby Kotab added 8 points/5 aces, and Holzbauer had 4 points/3 aces. Kotab led the de-fense picking up 7 digs, Holzbauer added 6 and Shana Lensing had 4. R. Medricky and Link each put up 1 block in the match.

Due to time the C team tied with the Thunder 1-1 with scores of 1825 and 25-17. Outside hitter Rico Fischer led the attack earning 10 kills and Holzbauer added 5. Setter Jazlyn Lhotak dished out 14 assists in the match. Lhotak also led all servers with 12 points/3 aces and Hayden Fischer earned 7 points/2 aces. Holzbauer led the defense scrapping for 8 digs and Kylin Insko picked up 4.

We honored our seniors Kya Kjeldgaard, Madi Knebel, Shona Kocer, Sabrina Kreeber, Macy Koupal, Abriana Leines, and Aubrey Medricky for Senior night. We are sure going to miss this group of young ladies. Thank you for your dedication and all the wonderful memories.

Also, a huge congratulations to our senior libero Madi Knebel for earning her 1,000 career digs. Your team is super proud of you!

This next week the C team will play Wessington Springs on Monday, October 16th. And the Lady Red Raiders will host their final regular season home match against the Winner Warriors on Tuesday, October 17th. The varsity team will participate in the SESD conference tournament in Tyndall on Saturday, October 21st.
