The Wagner Volleyball team swept the Vermillion Tanagers at all three levels on Thursday, August 25th. It was a great way to start our season and the girls showed they were ready to compete.

Varsity came away with a 3-0 win with scores of 25-14, 25-13, and 25-15. The girls came out swinging and picked up where we left off. Leading the attack were Avari Bruguier with 10 kills while Shona Kocer, Emma Yost, and Shalayne Nagel each putting away 7 of their own. Setter Macy Koupal moved the ball around well and racked up 27 assists on the night. Defensively E.Yost scrambled for 16 digs, M. Koupal picked up 10, Bruguier added 9 and Madi Knebel had 7. Nagel and Kya Kjeldgaard each had 3 huge blocks in the win.

The JV team won 2-0 with scores of 27-25 and 25-17. Offensive leaders were outside hitters Ashlyn Koupal and Aubrey Medricky with 7 and 6 kills. Middle hitter McKenzie Fuchs also threw down 4 of her own. Setter Lydia Yost distributed the ball with 16 assists on the win. Serving leaders were Braxton Nedved with 10 points/1 ace, A. Koupal 7 points/1 ace and L. Yost 9 points. In the back court libero Hazel Jensen picked up 6 digs along with A. Koupal adding 5 and A. Medricky and L. Yost with 3 apiece. A. Medricky also put up a solo block in the win.

The C team took both sets with scores of 25-15 and 25-13. Leaders at the net were Ravyn Medricky and Brylie Link with 5 and 3 kills. Hayden Fisher dished out 8 assists in the match. Meanwhile, behind the service line H. Fisher tallied 7 points/2 aces, Link added 8 points/2 aces and Libby Kotab converted 7 points/1 ace. Defensive leaders were H. Fisher, Kotab, Jessie Gutierez, and Braxton Nedved who each scrapped for 3 digs apiece.
