The Avon Lady Pirates traveled to Centerville on Thursday, October 16, where they fought through a five-set thriller to claim a 3-2 victory. Rilyn Thury had a standout night, powering the offense with 28 kills while also recording 29 digs and one ace serve. Setter Brielle Voigt turned in an impressive double-double with 46 set assists and 27 digs. Jordyn Voigt anchored the defense with 21 digs, and Kaydence Metzger contributed all-around with 5 kills, 20 digs, and 2 ace serves. Adding to the attack, Bree Vanderlei tallied 7 kills, Raegan Brandt added 7 kills and 3 digs, and Abby Gretschmann chipped in 4 kills and 5 digs. Breanna Hento had 3 kills and 5 digs, while Lexi Vanderlei played strong in the back row with 18 digs and 2 ace serves. The win brings the Lady Pirates’ season record to 15-9 as they continue to build momentum heading into the final stretch of the season.
