Macy Koupal was named to the 2024 list of Elite Eight Female Athletes of the Year. This is the 21st year that KQRN and KORN radio stations have sponsored this award. Requirements to be named to this prestigious list include being a junior or senior, having a GPA of 3.0 or higher, being involved in community and school activities, be an elite athlete and be nominated by their coach or school administration.

Macy is an all-state athlete in both volleyball and basketball. Her WCS volleyball career stats include 3,320 assists, 980 digs, and 231 aces. She also was named to the Class A First-Team All-State. In basketball, Macy ended her high school career with 1,271 points, 708 rebounds, and 372 assists. She was also selected for Class A Second-Team All-State.

In addition to being named to the Elite Eight, Macy was also in the running for Miss Basketball. 2024 marks the 47th year that Hansen-Anderson has been awarding this title. Each year 22 senior boys and girls and recognized and in the running for this title. Coaches from all over the state of South Dakota are the ones that chose the finalists.
