The South Dakota Department of Education announced its annual list of South Dakota's Regional Teachers of the Year. Making that elite list for Region 3, is our very own Mrs. Knodel. This fall, one of the five regional finalists will be selected to represent the state as the 2023 South Dakota Teacher of the Year. That individual will be South Dakota’s candidate for the National Teacher of the Year Award. The 2023 National Teacher of the Year will be announced during a ceremony in Washington, D.C., in spring 2023.

"I feel very excited, honored, and humbled to be receiving this award. Teaching is a profession that has high demands, but also reaps great rewards. I have had many blessings throughout my career that spill over into my personal life. I am grateful for all the support from the staff and families I work with, and especially from Avon and its surrounding communities" Knodel said. Congratulations!
