Four young athletes from Wagner represented their community well on Sunday, March 1, at the annual state free throw contest hosted by the Knights of Columbus.
Clarah Soukup, Audrey Gabel, Windsor Soukup, and Willow Soukup all qualified for the state competition, earning the opportunity to compete against top shooters from across the state.
Clarah Soukup delivered an outstanding performance, posting the highest score of the entire competition. She sank 24 of 25 free throws to capture first place in the 13-year-old girls division.
Windsor Soukup also turned in an impressive showing in the 12-year-old boys division. After making 22 of 25 shots, he tied for first place and advanced to a tie-breaker round, where he ultimately secured a strong second-place finish.
Willow Soukup earned third place in the 9-year-old girls division with a great performance at the line.
The Wagner competitors represented their hometown with skill and poise, making it a proud day for their families and community.
