Our local council #2676 had our February meeting on Tuesday the 4th. Cooks for the meeting were Clayton Rados and Mike Cihak. They provided a great meal for the council. The meeting had 30 members in attendance and before meeting the knights helped put everything back in the rooms at the CCD center as the flooring project was completed.

Main talking points at the meeting were from Tom Kocer on the status of the free throw competition which on Sunday March 1st we had a good showing from the community with 4 local kids placing in the finals. Special thanks to Mike Koupal for helping with the event. The council also voted on a few donations which passed and the donations were made to Right to Life and the Bishop Frost Fund. We also discussed applying and getting an AED machine for the parishes and tabled that until the next meeting. Father Jim provided the meal prayer and had a guest that showed a video on Human Trafficking to help build awareness on this issue.

On Sunday the 16th of February the Knights held the annual Valentines Party. There was a great turnout for the event and 10 cash prizes were given out. The top prize winners gave a generous amount of the money back to the council which was very much appreciated. Special thanks to everyone that attended, helped set up and worked at the event including Ron and Denise Soukup!

Our March meeting was held on Monday the 2nd due to Township meetings on the normal Tuesday in March. We had 25 members present and Richard Kokesh, Derek Koupal, Matt Hill and Ryan Beeson provided a great meal for the council. The council further discussed the AED project for the parish and put in place an application for a machine. We should know by next meeting if that will go through and what additional funding will be needed to get this completed. The council will be helping with a Youth Event that the Catholic Daughters are putting on Saturday the 18th of April which we are going to provide a snack for the kids! Father Jim closed with a meal prayer and an interesting presentation for the council.

Monthly meetings are always the first Tuesday of the month. Please note the our April meeting will be on Monday the 6th due to another event in the church basement. Please watch for information on councils annual fish fry which will be coming in April.
