On Thursday, August 17 the Pirates kicked off their season with a win against Colome. Right away in the game, Paxton Bierma took the opening kickoff 88 yards untouched to the end zone for a touchdown. At the end of the first quarter, the Pirates were up 14-0. In the third quarter, Landon Thury had a 2-yard touchdown pass, and Trace Pelton had a 27- yard touchdown pass as well. The Pirates defeated the Colome Cowboys 42-12. The Pirates will travel to Burke to take on the Cougars on August, 25.
