ARE YOU BURDENED OR NOT?
MARK 8:34 "And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me."(KJV) When we read our Bibles we find some real truths in a particular verse that are understood but not openly mentioned. This might take a little more Bible Study to see what is being said in a particular verse. So we will look into this verse MARK 8:34 and see what Jesus is saying to the disciples and his people following him. First He says about those that come after him, they should deny himself. This means that a man has a choice, to deny or walk away from any and all sin. Sin is fun for a season but denying sin is blessed of God. Second, take up His cross. Jesus does not expect us to carry around a big heavy cross where ever we go. The word " cross " as it is used in this verse means "burden". The cross Jesus had at his crucifiction was his "burden"' for all lost souls he was about to die for. Jesus is saying that if you believe in him and believe that those who do not believe in him are lost and hell bound you should have a"burden" for their lost souls to be saved. Jesus was "burdened" for your soul, you should be "burdened" for the souls of others. Third, follow Me. If we are seriously "burdened" for the souls of lost sinners we should do whatever we can to cause them to believe in Jesus. His life, death and resurrection, and repent for their sins for forgiveness and help them to claim Jesus Christ as their Savior. Jesus told of God the Father's love, His mercy, and forgiveness and of the promise of eternal life if they would believe in Jesus Christ. This is a promise that God cannot break. You see if you read and study your Bible there is much to find out within a particular verse. Are you "burdened" or not? Just Thought I'd Ask
