O death where is thy sting, o grave where is the victory: The sting of death is sin, and the sting of sin is the law.
But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abiding in the work of the Lord. For as much as ye know your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
When you have trusted Jesus as Savior--you are promised eternal life. So there is no reason for a Christian to fear death. The sting of sin has been paid for through Jesus Christ's death on the cross.
Rather than fear death, we look forward to it because we know that we are just passing through this life onto the next---eternal life. With this knowledge and the promise of Jesus, we can bypass the problems of this world in lieu of the blessings of our future.
So therefore the Scripture tells us to be steadfast (solid) unmovable (completely stable) and always (at all times, on all occasions, all the time continually) abounding (filled with) in the work of the Lord (doing what He says, teaching what He says, (living and following what He says to do) For as much as you know (you are sure and blessed) your labor is not in vain (or of no value or signifigance, worthless, fruitless) in the Lord.
Just remember that whatever you do, do it for the Glory of God. You will be blessed for doing it His way.
This seems like a win/win situation don't you think?
Just thought I'd ask.
