MATTHEW 17:14-20 "And when they were come to the multitude, there came to him a certain man, kneeling down to him, and saying, Lord have mercy on my son: For he is lunatic, and sore vexed: for ofted times he falleth into the fire, and oft into the water. I brought him to thy disciples, and they could not cure him. Then Jesus answered and said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? Bring him hither to me. And Jesus rebuked the devil; and he departed out of him: and the child was cured from that very hour. Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, why could we not cast him out? And Jesus said unto them, because of your unbelief: For verily I say unto you, if you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, remove hence to yonder place, and it shall remove: and nothing shall be impossible to you."(KJV) Faith is a very important part of our Christian life. We serve God who we believe is able to do all things. But many people do not exercise their true faith in the Lord.They have faith to believe that he forgives their sins, saves them when they ask, and will take them to heaven when they die. But when it comes to having faith in the Lord to do something that they cannot do for themselves, they fall short of having enough faith to believe He will do as He says He will do. He says, " If ye have faith as a grain of Mustard seed." This is indicating that you don't have to have a lot of faith, but must have real true faith, even as little as a mustard seed, that you can request something of Him and He will do it. MATTHEW 21:21 Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If you have faith, and doubt not,"(KJV) MATTHEW 21:22 "All things whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive."(KJV) Now we know why the disciples could not cure the man's son, Jesus said it was because of unbelief. Many people pray but they do not have enough faith to really believe that God will answer consequently they do not receive what they request of Him. Do you really have enough faith to get what you want from God? Hesaysif youhavefaith,andbelieveandaskanything, not doubting, you will receive your request. If this is not happening in your prayer life maybe you should check yourself and ask God for more faith, without faith you will receive nothing.
