'Jesus answered and saith unto them destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.'(KJV) We know today that the temple that Jesus was referring to was himself. And He was predicting His death on the cross.
And He was also predicting His own personal resurrection, alive from the grave.
The Jews at that time did not know at that time what we know today.
They took Him to mean their big building. They did not comprehend what Jesus was teaching them.
It is our knowledge that Jesus knew why He was on the earth, why He came to this earth, But they at that time did' not know what we know Now that we know why He came, and accomplished what He came for to make known of His Father's love and mercy, and forgiveness for those who would believe Him, and His promise of eternal life.
It cost Him His separation from heaven to come here. His life since He came here and now offers His total forgiveness to anyone who will accept what He did for them.
It cost Him everything, it costs us nothing. We must hear, believe and accept what He did for us. His free pardon of our sins and everlasting life, after earthly death, in heaven.
Knowing all that Jesus did for is, totally out of love for us, we should spend our days, however long they may be, loving, honoring and serving Him every day.
We must keep others in our minds who have not received His forgiveness, because we do not know just how much time they have before He comes and leaves them behind Jesus left us to do the witnessing so we must be doing it every day. This is the only way folks will be saved since the world is not doing it.
