P ROVERBS 13:13 'Who that despiseth the word shall be destroyed: but he that feareth the commandment shall be rewarded.' (KJV) There are two types of people today: those who have no interest in hearing or reading the Word of God and those who not only hear and read the Word of God, but also believe it.

The Bible is the Word of God in print, so that the reader will know all about Him that He has revealed in His Word. Also in His Word we find out just what the Lord wants from us. And He will bless those who follow His Word. His promises to those who are followers and faithful to His Word.

In His Word we read how He blesses those who honor Him, and we see how He curses those who don't.

Now in our Scripture verse PROVERBS 13:13 we find a very distinctive promise to those who despise His Word. It says 'they will be destroyed.'

His Word tells us that He wants to be loved, honored and for us to be obedient to His Word. Those who follow His Word are blessed now and after death--for eternity.

Those who despise His Word are not of the knowledge included in His Word and therefore do not and cannot receive His eternal blessings but they will be rejected from entering heaven, and will then be sent into the Lake of Fire after death--for eternity.

Thus we are commanded by the Lord to be telling others about the truths of God's Word. Their eternity results in hearing, believing, and trusting in God's Word.

We know some will still reject the teachings of God's Word-And God knows it too. But God also knows others will accept His free pardon of sin.

Those that are out and about telling of salvation will be rewarded and blessed for doing so.
