PROVERBS 12:5 'The thoughts of the righteous are right: but the counsels of the wicked are deceit.'(KJV) We are guided by the teachings of the PROVERBS in the Book of Wisdom.
In this PROVERB there is a division between the understanding of the righteous and the teachings of the wicked which are deceit.
DECEIT---which means deliberate misrepresentation of the truth: especially in moral and spiritual matters, in order to mislead a person .
As we can see from this description of deceit that the righteous people are informing others about the truths are given in the Word of God, completely staying within the truths--as stated in God's Word.
But in the case of the wicked people--they are misinterpreting the Word of God-- in their counseling or teachings improper teachings of God' Word about moral and spiritual things-- this causes them to trust in the counseling that leads the to believe that right is wrong and wrong is right. This causes them to live their life with improper teachings, which leads them away from instead of toward the Lord.
If they do not hear and believe the truths of God's Word--taught and preached by those righteous ( saved people ) believers they will be lost and will continue to be lost.
So as our Scripture tells us the righteous are right--in God's perfect Word, but the improper teachings of the wicked are just that---deceitful--guiding thew away from the truth.
PROVERBS will keep us in God's will, but deceitful teaching will cause a person not to know God's will and they will live out of God's will.
We must encourage others to get into the true Bible and join a Bible teaching Church teaching regularly --and grow in the grace of the Lord in truth.
