PURE IN THEIR OWN EYES
PROVERBS 30:12 'There is a generation that are pure in their own eyes, and is not yet washed from their filthiness. (KJV) Isaiah 65:5 'Which say, stand by thyself, come not near me; for I am holier than thou, these are a smoke in my nose, a fire that burneth all day.'(KJV) LUKE 18:11 'The Pharisee stood and prayed thus within himself, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, or even as this publican'(KJV) Knowing the truth from God's Word tells us what is sinful and what is acceptable to God ) TITUS 15,16) ' Unto the pure, all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and their conscience is defiled. 16) They profess they know God; but in works they defy Him, being abominable, and disobedient, and to every good work reprobate.'( KJV) As we can see from these scriptures that many people today are living their lives in a any thing goes attitude. They are not knowledgeable enough of the Word of God, which would open their minds to understand that most of what they do is abomination to God. Sin is an abomination to God and He hates sin.
Knowing the truth from God's Word tells us what is sinful and what is acceptable to God.
We knowing this helps us to realize that what we do in our life is either sinful, which God hates, or approved of God, which He blesses.
We are never to think that we are better that anyone else.
God created us all equal and blesses us for being obedient to His Word.
People who deny God's Word lose out on His blessings; but still they are pure in their own eyes. This is why we see so much sin around us.
They must be told the truth from God's Word, and accept itto be blessed of God--that comes from salvation, and hearing the Word of God--that is faith.
Do you apply properly the Word of God?
