MARK 2:14 "And when he had passed by, he saw Levi the son of Alphaeus sitting at the receipt of custom, and said unto him, Follow me, and he arose and followed him." (KJV)

Jesus only said two words to Levi and Levi left off what he was doing and he followed Jesus. The two words were "FOLLOW ME" Today in God's Word (the Bible) the word follow is mentioned 50 times. in MATTHEW 6 times;in MARK 7 times;in LUKE 9 times;in JOHN 9 times; in ROMANS 2 times; in 1 CORINTHIANS 1 time; in PHILIPPIANS 1 time; in THESSALONIANS i time; in 2 THESSAILONIANS 2 times; in 1 TIMOTHY 2 times;in 3 JOHN 2 times; and in REVELATION 2 times.

This list of references in God's Word expresses to us the importance that God places on following Him. By the length of this list and the number of times God's Word mentions for us to follow Him we can see the importance of doing it.

Now in this day and age how does one go about following Him?

The Lord has given us the BIBLE that tells us all about how we can follow JESUS. We must first believe that He is, that takes faith. Faith comes from hearing--God's Word. This is done by listening to preaching and by reading the BIBLE and by believing God's Word.

Now when a person believes in JESUS, hears about all that HE has done for them, and reading the BIBLE Promises He has made to those who believe in Him--Faith then comes.

Once a person has placed their faith in JESUS CHRIST then following Him through His Word--the BIBLE becomes easier every day.

The BIBLE tell us that the more faithful we are to following His Word, the more blessed our life on earth will be and if a person follows JESUS unto salvation, He promises eternal life in Heaven.

So following JESUS with the scripture and preaching as your guide is a win win situation.

We are told that without CHRIST we can do nothing, but we can do all things through CHRIST which strengthens us.

So for us to follow JESUS in our life we must know HIM--in our hearts,believe that He will do all that HE says in HIS WORD that HE will do.

Put into practice what we know as to how to follow Him. The results of doing as He says is a life of blessings.
