MATTHEW 13:54-58 " And when he was come into his own country, He taught them in their Synagogue, insomuch that they were astonished, and said, Whence hath this man this wisdom, and these mighty works. Is not this the carpenter's son?,is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas? And his sisters, are they not all with us? Whence then hath this man all these things? And they were offended in him. But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour save in his own country, and in his own house. And he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief."(KJC)

Jesus was refused by those of His country because of their unbelief. They knew Him as achild now grown up. They knew His mother and Joseph and all His siblings. Now He comes home for a while--as a prophet. He taught them in their own Synagogue marvelous things, but those that knew Him rejected Him and His teachings.

We are living in a world of gross sin. Many have been told that Good is bad and that bad is good and have been told these things for so long that the Lord is all but left out of all conversations.

But the Word of God is still being preached around the World.

Now if one gets saved and returns home and is different than when he left, The scripture tells us in 11CORINTHIANS 5:17 " Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold all things are become new."(KJV)

Now when this new Christian returns home--he is not like he was--he is a new creature. Now when he gets home the folks and family remember him as he was before he left and refuse to listen to him about his salvation and forgiveness by the Lord, and they do not believe what he is saying. They didn't listen because of unbelief. Just as happened to Jesus when He went home.

But now the new Christian can leave his home and tell others about Jesus--and they will listen to him because they do not know his backround.

If you are having trouble witnessing of Jesus to your own family or past friends, don't be surprised if they don't listen. But the best thing that you can do is pray for their salvation. You did your part by telling them--now the Holy Spirit will have to convince them that you were telling the truth.
