WHERE DO YOU FIT IN
PROVERBS 13:7 There is that maketh himself rich, yet hath nothing: there is that maketh himself poor, yet hath great riches."(KJV)
There are those in this world who spend their life gaining money, possessions, and land and much much more who others would look at them and say---they are rich.
But no matter how much of these things they accumulate for themselves, one day they will die and will take none of them with them. "Rich and have nothing".
Then their are those in this world who spend their life surrendered to serving the Lord, who will find that worldly possessions are only temporal at best. So these people will spend their time and effort, not to necessarily please themselves, but to please the Lord.
Consequently the Lord promises to them in MATTHEW 6:31-34 " Therefore take no thought,-saying, What shall we eat? Or what shall we drink? Or wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) For your heavenly Father knows that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and His righteousness: and all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof."(KJV)
So these people do not spend their time acquiring things that they will leave at death--But are building up riches in heaven for being faithful to the Lord during their life.
Some may look at them as being poor, but when it comes right down to it,they have "great riches". Such as: They are saved, have their sins forgiven, they have the promise of everlasting life in heaven with Jesus forever. These promises they take with them when they die.
So we can say the scripture PROVERBS 13:7 'There is that maketh himself rich( in worldly possessions, but not in God's blessings) is lost and has nothing. There is that maketh himself poor (yet he is saved and serving the Lord) hath great riches, that he does not leave behind at death--but keep them forever in heaven.
