WE SHOULD FOLLOW THEM AS DAVID DID
PSALM 101:1-5
1) "I will sing of mercy ( loving kindness ) unto thee O Lord, will I sing. 2) I will behave myself. O when wilt thou come unto me? I will walk within my house with a perfect heart. 3) I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside: it shall not cleave to me. 4) A froward (perverse ) heart shall depart from me: I will not know a wicked person. 5) Whoso privily slandereth his neighbor, him will I cut off: Him that hath a high look and a proud heart will not I suffer."(KJV)
Going over these verses we will see that we should follow them as David did.
Verse 1: Sing of mercy and judgement. We should sing from our heart melodies that speak of God's loving kindness and of His justice.
Verse 2: This is instructing the way we should conduct ourselves, wisely- thinking about what we are about to do and be concerned that it will be pleasing to God. Walking in our house with a perfect heart as examples to those who live with us, so as not to give them bad examples to follow.
Verse 3: Set no wicked thing before mine eyes. Be sure that those things we look at or watch are not wicked (or Sinful) to keep us from letting evil enter into our thoughts. Hating the works of them that turn aside. We should hate the works that are not pleasing to God.Hate the sin others are doing, and don't let their actions or sins be able to entice us to do them as well.
Verse 4: A froward heart shall depart from me, I will not allow myself to think of others as lesser persons. They are God's creation, He loves them and we should love them as well. We must not look at others as wicked people, they are simply caught up in their sin. We should always do our best to see them get saved.
Verse 5: This verse is telling us that we should not pal around with someone who is a busybody telling things of their neighbors that could cause the neighbor's reputation to be hindered of such a person we should cut off. A person who has a proud heart or a high look I will not encourage. Those who try to put themselves above others.
This is good Biblical advise. Don't you think we should follow them as David did?
