Just Thought I'd Ask
ARE YOUR PRAYERS ANSWERED, OR NOT?
MATTHEW 17:14-20 "And when they were come to the multitude, there came to him a certain man, kneeling, down to him saying, (15) Lord have mercy on my son; for he is a lunatic and sore vexed: for ofttimes he falleth into the fire, and oft into the water. (16) And I brought him to thy disciples, and they could not cure him. (17) Then Jesus answered and said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? Bring him hither to me. (18)And Jesus rebuked the devil; and he departed out of him: and the child was cured from that very hour. (19) Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out? (20)And Jesus said unto them, because of your unbelief: For verily I say unto you, if you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, remove hence to yonder place and it shall remove: and nothing shall be impossible unto you."(KJV)
There are many people who are disappointed when after many times praying for something they did not get what they asked for.
We know that God always answers our proper prayers with a yes, no or wait a while.
Many people wait and wait and wait and still do not have an answer.
This could be because of several reasons:
1. They asked for something that they could produce for themselves, but are not willing to do it for themselves.
2. They asked for something that even if they were to get an answer, the answer would not glorify the Lord.
3. They doubted when they asked if God would fulfill their request.
4. They did not ask in full faith that God would answer.
5. They have not been faithful to do for God what He has clearly expressed and that is to Love, Honor and Serve Him faithfully. This asking Him to do something for you while you are not doing what He wants is wanting Him to do something for you while you are not doing what He wants you to do.
So to get answers from the Lord a person should ask for something that will bring glory to Him, believe in your heart that it will happen as you asked and be sure that you thank Him at the time you prayed for it.
Doing things God's Way you will find that the last part of MATTHEW 17:20 will be true today as it was in Jesus time "nothing shall be impossible unto you."(KJV)
Think about it, are your prayers answered or not?
