1 CORINTHIANS 3: 16,17 "Know ye not that ye are the Temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? If any man defile the Temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the Temple of God is holy, which Temple ye are."(KJV)

The Bible tells us that when we surrender ourselves to God, when we ask for mercy and forgiveness, and He saves us, we become a new creature. 11CORINTHIANS 5:17 "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he in a new creature: old things are passed away: behold all things are become new."(KJV)

At the very second that you received salvation the Holy Spirit indwells in you. This means that the Holy Spirit of God now lives in you, He promises to never leave you.

As you have now received the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, He lives in you, you are His dwelling place, the dwelling place is appropriately named a Temple, you are the Temple of the Holy Spirit.

It is very important to you that you keep the Temple of God clean. With the indwelling of the Holy Spirit and you following His guide you will be able to keep your Temple clean.

The things that change are directed by the Holy Spirit who guides you away from the worldly things and turns your thoughts and desires toward the Lord.

11Corinthians 5:7 "(for we walk by faith. not by sight.)" (KJV)

We therefore place our trust in the guidance of the Holy Spirit who will help us to not defile the Temple of God. The Temple of God is not a Church House, it is you, your body in which the Holy Spirit dwells.

Knowing that the Holy Spirit is with you in all that you do and He knows what you do and that He is right there when you do it, helps you to turn away from those earthly things that defile your Temple.

Drugs, alcohol, promiscuity, evil thoughts, envying, cursing, etc. which do not bring honor unto the Lord are things that defile the Temple of God.

God is not pleased when people defy His Temple and if they do it with disregard to the advise of the Holy Spirit. God will bring upon that person severe chastisement.

God wants us to take care of His Temple, your body and for you to use your body under the leadership of the Holy Spirit to love, honor and to serve God. In so doing God will bless you and give you sufficient grace to protect your Temple (body) from using your body improperly.

Remember, the Holy Spirit is with you from your salvation until He escorts your soul into the dwelling of God, heaven.

Follow Him, make Him pleased with you
