JOHN 15:13-15 "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. Ye are my friends. If you do whatsoever I command you henceforth I call you not servants: for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends: for all things that I have heard of my father I have made known unto you."(KJV)

Just what is a friend? A person which one knows well and is fond of.

A person must know where he stands in relation to God.

JAMES 4:4 tells us that "friendship with the world is enmity with God."(KJV)

MATTHEW 6:24 "No man can serve two masters"(KJV). A person must determine who he will serve.

JAMES 4:7 says first one must "rebuke the devil" then in James 4:8 "draw nigh to God" this means to get close to God.

One must first deny the devil, believe the Gospel, confess their sins, ask for mercy, repent and trust Jesus alone and be saved. At this time he becomes a Born Again Child of God and is no more enemy of God.

This person has pledged to God his intention to love, honor and obey the Lord. In order to do this He must know more about the Lord. He must increase his faith in the Lord by hearing about Him, thru preaching, which then says he should join a Bible Preaching Church, attend it regularly and support it.

This person must make up his mind to be faithful to the Word of God and make God's Word the final say in all things in his life. Once he has settled in his heart that Jesus is first in his life, and begins to do all that Jesus says to do, he becomes a friend of Jesus.

He learns to love Jesus as his Lord and friend. One he can count on at all times, one who is there when in need.

He also becomes one who Jesus can count on, one Jesus can rely on to do His work. He is one chosen by God to be used for His glory to bring forth fruit, and that his fruit shall remain. He spends time reading and studying his Bible.

One who is willing and does these things can be sure that Jesus will call him friend.

Jesus lived and died for us, His friends.

We should live, love and serve Him, our Lord and Friend.

Now you how to be His friend
