PROVERBS 24:9 41) And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain .( 2 ) 42) Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away 43) Ye hath heard that it has been said, thou shalt love thy neighbor, and hate thine enemy 44) But I say unto you, love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you and pray for them which despitefully use you.'(KJV) ROMANS 12:17,18,19 17) Recompense to no man evil for evil, provide all things honest in the sight of all men.
18) If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.
19) Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give peace unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine: I will repay saith the Lord.'(KJV) It is within our nature to want to return to someone something to get back at them.
Yet God expressly tells us that that is not what we should do. The best thing for us to do is to walk away and let it be.
Getting back at someone for what they might have done to you will only encourage that person to continue to come back at you. It then becomes a vicious circle---get back, get back again.
Instead of getting someone back we are told to pray for them. This influences us to forgive them and forget what has happened. We can rest assured that as God's Word tells us that God will take care of the situation.
He is bigger and better knows how to recompence the actions of the person who did something to you, so just let it be up to God to do it. In so doing you are showing the other person the love of God.
Show God's love through you by letting the action go.
You not only will have peace of mind because you let it go, but you will also receive God's blessings for obeying his way to handle the situation.
God's way is always the right way.
When the time comes, will you let it go?
