Joe Stedronsky of the Wagner Rotary Club was recently honored at the 2023 Rotary District 5610 Conference held in Yankton, SD at the end of September. Joe was nominated for the Rotarian of Distinction Award for Area 6 by Assistant Governor, Bill Frei. This award goes to Rotarians that stand out in service to their community and to Rotary. Joe shared some memories and history of his time as a Rotary member in the Wagner Club when he spent an afternoon with Assistant Governor, Bill Frei.

Joe Stedronsky is a second generation Rotarian. Joe graduated from SDSU in 1950, and served his country from 1951--1953. He joined Rotary in 1960 with his brother. They were asked to join the Wagner Rotary Club by Don Piroutek (Past District Governor, 1978-1979). Joe was the Wagner Rotary club reporter for 30 years and also served as Club President in 1966-1967. Joe is a Paul Harris Fellow plus 2. Joe is 95 years old and actively involved in club meetings. He still remembers in 1977 when the Rotary Club moved to their very own club room in the Piroutek building which the club still owns today.
