On Friday and Saturday, May 3rd and 4th, Wagner took some select athletes to Sioux Falls to compete in the Howard Wood Dakota Relays.

We would have two placers at this meet. Ashlyn Koupal tied her career best as she cleared a height of 5’ 7”, which she achieved two years ago as an 8th grader. She would get second place overall.

Jhett Breen entered the 300 hurdles and came away with a 6th place finish overall with a time of 40.65.

The kids competing in individual events at Howard Wood are competing against runners from all classes in South Dakota as well as runners from other states, which makes both Jhett’s and Ashlyn’s accomplishments at this meet that much more impressive.

We also took the boys 4x100 relay team of Jhett Breen, Gannon Knebel, Javian Pesicka, and Brayden Kreber. They didn’t run their best time of the year but finished with a respectable time of 45.61, good enough for 14th in class A, as relays are run according to class.
