On May 8, 2022, Katelynn (Katie) Wells landed this 14.91-kilogram (32-pound, 14-ounce) black grouper while fishing aboard “Off the Rock” out of Key West, Florida. With this fish Wells has set the IGFA Women’s 10-kg (20 lb) Line Class World Record for the species.

Katie landed this impressive grouper following a 7-minute battle after the fish struck her live bait. Upon returning to the docks, she brought the fish to Keys Fresh Seafood Market for an official weight on a certified scale.

Katie is the daughter of Kevin and Georgia Andersh.
