On Tuesday, June 24, Wagner’s Post 11 Junior and Senior Legion teams moved their games from Wagner to Tabor due to wet field conditions.
Wagner’s juniors were the first to take the field. After taking a 3-2 lead into the 5th inning, Tabor would score four in that frame and two more in the 6th to secure an 8-3 win.
Dominic Doom was the starting pitcher. He would go five innings allowing six runs, five of which were earned, on eight hits while walking three and striking out five. Trasin Dilts then came on to throw one inning of relief. He allowed two runs, one earned, on no hits and a walk. He also had one strikeout.
Colton Zephier had two hits and scored one run to lead the Wagner offense. Doom doubled and knocked in one run while Dilts doubled and scored a run. Jamian Medicine Horn had a hit and two RBI while Avery Medicine Bear scored one run.
In the second game Javian Pesicka would get the ball and experience a rough first inning. He would give up five runs on five hits, including a home run and a triple. The good news for Javian was that, despite the bad start, he regrouped nicely to keep the Tabor bats in check through the next four innings. He would pitch 4.2 innings giving up seven runs, four earned, on seven hits while walking four and striking out seven. Malakai Segura came on in relief and allowed four earned runs. He allowed those runs on three hits while walking four as Wagner would fall by an 11-1 count.
Pesicka did his best at the plate by collecting two hits. We collected only two other hits as Doom had one and scored the lone run, being driven in by an Octavian Kocer single.
