Each student received a $500 scholarship for the 2020-21 academic year to further their education and advocacy for the agriculture industry.
Together, Hoegemeyer Hybrids and its customers provide the monies needed for the Hoegemeyer Cares Scholarship Fund.
Rose Eitemiller is a freshman at South Dakota State University, majoring in agricultural engineering. She is the daughter of Hoegemeyer dealers Chet and Angela Eitemiller of Armour, S.D. Rose has held many officer positions in her local FFA including chapter reporter, student advisor, and vice president, and helped organize community service projects like providing harvest lunches to local farmers. Upon graduation, Rose plans to return to her agriculture community and help farmers improve processes on their operations.
Taylor Eitemiller is a junior at South Dakota State University, majoring in animal science. She is the daughter of Hoegemeyer dealers Chet and Angela Eitemiller of Armour, S.D. Taylor is active in her family’s farming operation and especially enjoys seeing results of her work, like a newborn calf growing into a marketing steer, or a blank field growing into towering corn. She also has a passion for music and is in the women’s choir at SDSU. Upon graduation, Taylor plans to work with cattle as an embryologist.
“The students studying agriculture right now are very driven and talented,” says Hoegemeyer general manager Jeremy Thompson. “We receive more than 200 excellent applications for this scholarship each year and we are excited to provide students with the opportunity to further their education in the agriculture industry.”
The primary target for this scholarship is high school seniors and college students who are pursuing a degree in agriculture, either at a two-year or four-year institution. Hoegemeyer plans to award ten $500 scholarships for the 2021-2022 school year. Interested students can check our website, www.therightseed.com, for scholarship applications starting in February 2021.
