HIGH PLAINS "BUCKIN' TO VEGAS" TRY-OUTS TO RETURN TO WAGNER LABOR DAY RODEO

By

The High Plains “Buckin’ To Vegas” pre-qualifier try-outs are excited to be coming back to Wagner for the second year during the Wagner Labor Day Rodeos, September 4 and 5. Size appropriate stock - miniature, shetland, quarter pony and full sized bucking horses, provided by Lazy 3S Rodeo Co, are used to develop and showcase the skills of the different age brackets for the junior rodeo athletes. Each day in Wagner, the top four youth contestants in five different age groups qualify in the Jr Bareback & Jr Saddle Bronc Riding for the High Plains Circuit Finals in Fort Pierre on Sunday, September 12.

The winners of the High Plains Circuit Finals, who are JRA members ages 10-18 as of January 1, advance in December to Las Vegas for the Junior Roughstock World Finals held in conjunction with the Junior World Finals that takes place at Cowboy Christmas during the Wrangler NFR. Those age divisions are 10-11, 12-13, 14-15 & 16-18. The 6-9 PeeWee division top JRA riders advance to Utah for their year end Junior Roughstock World Finals the last week in September.

Pre-entries for the Wagner, High Plains region event, are online August 14-28 at www.saddlebook. com. Any rider can compete for the trophy buckles that are awarded to the Average Champion based on the scores for the two days in Wagner, without a membership. No national membership is required to compete at the High Plains Circuit Finals. However if a rider is looking to qualify for the Junior Roughstock World Finals then their national membership is required to compete at that level. For more information go to www.lazy3Srodeo.com.
