The public is invited to meet with us at the American Legion Hall in Menno, South Dakota on Sunday afternoon, March 30, at 2 o'clock. The Legion Hall is located at 301 South 4th Street which is one block west of Main Street in Menno. The Legion Hall is handicapped accessible. The afternoon program will be about the heirloom seeds that were brought to this country by the Germans from Russia 150 years ago, and how to save your own seeds. There is a renewed interest today with saving heirloom seeds so all who are interested in gardening, heirloom seed saving, or the history of the Germans from Russia are invited to attend. A remarkable number of seed varieties were brought to this country from South Russia and the seeds that grew on the steppes of Russia and Ukraine, flourished on the Great Plains of America. The program is free and open to all and is sponsored by SoDak Stamm, the local chapter of the Germans from Russia Heritage Society. A time of fellowship will be enjoyed following the program with our usual potluck lunch of finger foods. Drinks and tableware will be provided. If you have any questions, you may call: 605-212-9011.
