The Lady Pirates traveled to Alexandria last week to start their volleyball season at the Hanson - Early Bird Tournament. Session 1 was played on Tuesday, August 22nd and found the Pirates facing off at the net against Wessington Springs where the Lady Pirates took the win 2-0. Courtney Sees had 13 kills and 10 digs; McKenna Kocmich had 24 set assists and 5 digs; Grace Vanderlei had 1 kill, 3 digs and 1 ace serve; Lila Vanderlei had 7 kills, 10 digs and 1 ace serve; Lexi Vanderlei had 5 kills and 12 digs; Jordyn Voigt had 7 digs, and Macy Voigt had 1 dig and 2 ace serves. The Pirates next faced off against Hanson where the ladies came up short 1-2. Courtney Sees had 11 kills and 14 digs; Lila Vanderlei had 3 kills, 7 digs and 1 ace serve; Lexi Vanderlei had 3 kills and 10 digs; McKenna Kocmich had 19 set assists and 14 digs; Macy Voigt had 13 digs and 2 ace serves; Jordyn Voigt had 10 digs and 1 ace serve and Rilyn Thury had 1 kill and 2 digs. Session 2 was held Thursday, August 25th where they ladies took on Freeman for the win 2-1. Courtney Sees had 12 kills, 9 digs and 1 ace serve; Lila Vanderlei had 6 kills, 2 blocks and 3 digs; Lexi Vanderlei had 1 kill, 1 block, 8 digs and 3 ace serves; McKenna Kocmich had 19 set assists, 10 digs and 1 ace serve; Macy Voigt had 3 digs and 1 ace serve; Jordyn Voigt had 9 digs; Rilyn Thury and Grace Vanderlei each put down 1 kill.
