The Avon Lady Pirates hit the road for their first matches, traveling to Hanson for the Annual Early bird Tournament.

In the first game on Tuesday, August 23, Avon faced Freeman Academy/Marionandwonintwo matches.

Avon 25 25 FA/Marion 20 10 Serving leaders for the game were senior, Kim Tolsma with three aces and Lila Vanderlei with two aces.

Courtney Sees lead the Lady Pirates with 12 kills and 16 digs.

Kinley Doom had one block and McKenna Kocmich contributed 13 set assists in the win.

Laterintheevening,theLady Pirates faced Hanson falling short.

Avon 20 17 Hanson 25 25 Leadinginkillsanddigsinthe match was Sees with nine each. Lila Vanderlei and Kinley Doom bothputuponeblock,whileKim Tolsma added one ace. Kocmich put up eight set assists.

On Thursday, August 25 they traveled back to battle for 3rd place taking on ACDC.

CourtneySeeshad11digs,seven kills and two ace serves for the Lady Pirates. McKenna Kocmich added14setassists,threedigsand one ace serve. Grace Vanderlei had 10 digs and three kills.

Theyplayedhardandcaptured 3rd place at the tournament.
