Tony Hansum ran an early season best in 20:53 to medal in tenth place in the Boys Varsity 5K. First place winners were both from Chamberlain, Kinsey Evans for the girls (19:22) and Declain Tweit for the boys (18:20).

Coach Larry Lucas stated, “This was our first 5K race for the season and it now gives us more insight into how we line up with other runners in our Region and State. Anna, Lexi, and Eilie are setting at 20th, 25th, and 33rd for times overall in the State Class B. In the Region 3B Girls we are stacked up very close to Freeman Academy/ Marion for the number one team. Tony is at 35th best time overall in the Class B Boys.”

This past Tuesday the Thunder ran in the Scotland Meet and next Monday, September 13 they compete in the Wagner Meet, which is ran on the Randall Hills Golf Course in Pickstown. This meet starts at 4:15 pm and is a good one to attend and cheer on the runners.
