GREER UNIT #11 AMERICAN LEGION AUXILIARY MEETING MINUTES

Greer Unit #11 American Legion Auxiliary held their monthly meeting on September 18 at the Post Home with 19 members present.

President Alyssa Mathis called the meeting to order. Chaplain Margie Stone read the opening prayer. The Pledge of Allegiance and American Legion Auxiliary Preamble were recited in unison.

Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved.

Dolores Kotab made motion to approve bills presented. Motion carried.

Membership chairman, Barbara Kucera, reported that we have 38 paid members. Goal is 93.

Correspondence was read from District 8 President Karen Richlien.

Thank you's were read from the family of Annamae Costello and Girl Stater Jennifer Feucht-Thooft. Alyssa Mathis thanked members that helped at the National Night Out event and the Legion lunch stand over Labor Day weekend.

Thank you card was signed by members to the Horner family for their donation in member of Norma Horner.

Community Service chairman, Margie Stone, reported of appropriate cards that had been sent.

Payment was approved for the following obligations for 2025-2026: National Convention Assessment; Quarters; Bond; Convention Proceedings Book; Veterans care; Christmas party for Veterans; Christmas Gift Shop; Creative Arts; Children and Youth Donations and Scholarships; Child Welfare Foundation; Auxiliary Emergency Fund; Juniors; Past Presidents Parley; Department Presidents Project; and District Dues.

The Legion and Legion Auxiliary will be serving the Fellowship meal in October. This is our project for Make A Difference Day.

Marlene Stone won the basket and donated it back to the Children and Youth Fund.

As there was no further business to come before the meeting, Chaplain Margie Stone read the prayer for peace and President Alyssa Mathis adjourned the meeting.
