Greer Unit #11, American Legion Auxiliary held their monthly meeting on May 15 at the Post Home with 14 members present.
President Alyssa Mathis called the meeting to order. Chaplain Margie Stone read the opening prayer. The Pledge of Allegiance and American Legion Auxiliary Preamble were recited in unison.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. The Treasurer's report was given and approved.
Motion was made by Kathy Geiman, seconded by Margie Stone to pay the bill presented. Motion carried.
Membership chairman Barbara Kucera reported that we have 93 paid members. Goal is 82.
Correspondance was read from the District 8 President Karen Richlein.
Community Service chairman Margie Stone reported appropriate cards had been sent.
Motion was made by Barbara Kucera and seconded by Barbara Clements to have lunch stand at the Wagner Cancer Rummade Sale on June 4, 5, and 6. Motion Carried.
Juanita Stone made motion to present scholarship money to Presley Slaba as our Girls State Representative, seconded by Kathy Geiman. Motion carried.
Motion was made by Jaunita Stone to collect items for the Project - Stuff a Sack, seconded by Kathy Geiman. Motion carried.
Auxiliary members will furnish salads and desserts for the Memorial Day lunch which will be held after the Memorial Day Program on May 26. Program will be held at the Armory and lunch at the Legion.
Delegates to the State Legion Convention on June 19-22 in Huron will be: Barbara Kucera, Kathy Geiman, Alyssa Mathis and Jeanette Fuchs. Alternates will be: Dolores Kotab, Margie Stone and Josie Rezac.
The basket was won by Jeanette Fuchs and donated back to the Children and Youth Fund.
As there was no further business to come before the meeting, Chaplain Margie Stone read the Prayer for Peace and President Alyssa Mathis adjourned the meeting.
