Greer Unit #11 American Legion Auxiliary held their monthly meeting on May 18, 2023 at the Post home with 13 members present and 1 guest - Karen Richelieu, District 8 President.

The meeting was called to order by President Linda Youngbluth. Chaplin Margie Stone read the opening prayer. The Pledge of Allegiance and American Legion Auxiliary Preamble were recited in unison.

Membership chairman, Barbara Kucera reported we have 79 paid members. Goal is 77.

Community Service Chairman, Margie Stone reported that appropriate cards had been sent.

Report for Poppy Day on May 18, 2023 was given and final report will be given next month to include sales for May 19, 2023 to be added.

Delegates to the State Convention in Oacoma on June 8-11, 2023 are Linda Youngbluth, Barbara Kucera, Kathy Geiman and Jeanette Fuchs. Alternates are Carol Tolliver, Bonnie Soukup, Juanita Stone and Margie Stone.

Auxiliary members will furnish a salad or dessert for the Memorial Day luncheon on May 29, 2023 which will be held at the Post home after the Memorial Day Program at the Armory. All auxiliary members are asked to wear their vests with white blouse/shirt and dark slacks.

Linda Youngbluth made motion for cash amounts of the Poppy Poster winners. Kathy Geiman seconded, motion carried. Winners of the posters are: Second graders - 1st Aspen Peters Brugier; 2nd - Azhlyn Archambeau and 3rd - Jahvanna Sanchey. Third Graders - 1st - Braylyn Drapeau; 2nd - Audrey Gabel: and 3rd - Jaxx Chafin. Carol Tolliver made motion for cash amounts for the Poppy Coloring picture winners, Delores Kotab seconded - motion carried. Winners for the colored pictures are: Kindergarten - 1st - Maverick Kafka; 2nd - Shannara Pena; 3rd - Nirvana Zephier. First graders 1st Kendall; 2nd - Nevaeh; and 3rd Jaylahni.

Discussed the things for the lunch stand for the Wagner Cancer Rummage sale on June 9 and 10, 2023. Auxiliary members are asked to bring bars, kolaches and rolls to serve at the lunch stand.

The Auxiliary will be serving Brats at Wagner Super Foods on June 30 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Margie Stone made motion to keep the same officers for the next year, Barbara Kucera seconded - motion carried.

The basket was won by Barbara Kucera and donated back to the children and Youth Fund.

As there was no further business to come before the meeting. Chaplain Margie Stone read the prayers for peace and President Linda Youngbluth adjourned the meeting.
