Greer Unit #11 American Legion Auxiliary
Greer Unit #11, American Legion Auxiliary met on April 20, 2023 at the Post home with 16 members present.
The meeting was called to order by President Linda Youngbluth Chaplin Margie Stone read the opening prayer. The Pledge of allegiance and Auxiliary Preamble were recited in unison.
Minutes of the prior meeting were read and approved as read.
Treasurer's report was given and approved. Bills were presented for payment. Juanita Stone made motion to pay the bills. Motion seconded by Kathy Geiman. Motion carried.
Membership chairman Barbara Kucera reported that we have 79 paid members. Goal is 77.
Community Service chairman, Margie Stone reported appropriate cards had been sent.
Correspondence was read from District President Karen Richeliew.
Report was given from the District 8 meeting by Jeanette Fuchs, Barbara Kucera and Kathy Geiman.
Scheduled time for workers on Poppy Days on May 18 and 19, 2023 was passed around for members sign up.
Thank you was read from Mayme Crisman for the Chamber Dollars she won in the raffle at our Soup and Sandwich Luncheon.
Discussed the soup and sandwich luncheon. We had a great success. The following were winners of the raffle-$50 Chamber Dollars - Mayme Crisman; $50 Beef Bucks - Relynn Soukup; $25 gift card- Mary Kuhlman; $25 gift card - Cindy Fredrick; $35 gift card - Kit Juffers; Avon products - Radak Kotab; Easter Wreath - Brad Barrett.
Linda Youngbluth reported that 19 Easter cards had been sent to Legion and Auxiliary members that are in nursing homes.
Poppy Posters done by the school children will be judged on May 8, 2023.
Motion was made by Alysa Mathis that Auxiliary serve lunch on June 8 and 9, 2023 at the Wagner Cancer Rummage Sale. Carol Tolliver seconded, motion carried.
The State Convention will be held in Oacoma on June 8-11, 2023 The basket was won by Jeanette Fuchs and it was donated back to the children and Youth Fund.
As there was no further business to come before the meeting, Chaplin Margie Stone read the prayer for peace and President Linda Youngbluth adjourned the meeting.
