Greer Unit #11 American Legion Auxiliary met on November 17, 2022 at the post home with 10 members present.

The meeting was called to order by President Linda Youngbluth. Chaplin Margie Stone read the opening prayer. The Pledge of Allegiance and Auxiliary Preamble were recited in unison.

Minutes of the previous meeting were approved as read.

As the treasurer was not at the meeting, Barbara Kucera read the report from the treasurer. Report was approved as read.

Bill was presented for the Halloween candy purchased for the nursing home party. Motion was made by Marlene Stone to pay bill. Motion was seconded and carried.

Membership chairman, Barbara Kucera reported that we have 60 paid members. Goal is 77.

Community Service chairman, Margie Stone reported appropriate cards had been sent.

Thank you was read from the backpack program for the donation sent to them.

Cookies were delivered on November 15, 2022 to the Wagner school staff for education week November 14-18, 2022.

Lina Youngbluth gave a report on the district meeting held in Wakonda on October 23, 2022.

The mid-winter conference will be held in Huron on February 1012, 2023.

Thanksgiving cards will be sent to our nursing home members.

Auxiliary members will bring food for the Wagner Food Pantry in place of the gift exchange at the December meeting.

Auxliary members will furnish a salad or dessert for the December meal.

Continuous membership certificates were presented to members 5 years Anna Chrisman and Suzanne Isebrands; 15 years - Nita Peterka; 20 years - Darla Fischer and Kathleen Geiman; 30 years - Crystal Bahnson, Barbara Clemens, Sharon Garber and Sharon Haar; 35 years- Elaine Bartunek and Marlene Stone; 45 years - Linda Youngbluth; and 65 years - Mayme Crisman.

The soup and sandwich luncheon was discussed. Plans are to have it in the Spring. More information will be available in the next few months.

Linda Youngbluth won the basket and donated it back to the children and youth fund.

As there was no further business to come before the meeting, chaplin Margie Stone and the prayer for peace and President Linda Youngbluth adjourned the meeting.
