Greer Unit #11 American Legion Auxiliary

Greer Unit #11 American Legion Auxiliary met on September 15 at the Post Home with 13 members present and three guests: Todd, Amy and Kathryn Doom. Kathryn gave a report on her week at Girls State this Summer. Kathryn was presented her Girls State pin by Past President Juanita Stone.

The meeting was called to order by President Linda Youngbluth. Chaplin Margie Stone read the opening prayer. The Pledge of Allegiance and Auxiliary Preamble were recited in unison.

Minutes of the previous meeting were approved as read.

Treasurer's report was given and approved.

Membership chairman Barbara Kucera reported that we have 16 paid memberships, goal is 77.

Community Service chairman, Margie Stone reported that appropriate cards had been sent.

Correspondence was read from the District President Kim Richelieu.

Thank you's were read from the following for donations sent to them: Life Scape, Children's Miracle Network, Fischer House, Special Olympics and Dictionary Project. Thank you from Kathryn Doom, Girls State Representative and President Linda Youngbluth thanked ladies for helping in the Legion lunch stand over Labor Day Weekend.

Alyson Mathis made motion to make donation to Midwest Honor Flight. Motion seconded and carried.

Members went over the list of obligations and the amount of donation. Kathy Geiman made motion to pay obligations. Motion seconded and carried.

Christmas gifts will be delivered to HSC for Veterans.

Dictionaries have been received and will be delivered to the third graders at Wagner and Marty Schools.

Poppy order was tabled until the October meeting.

District 8 meeting will be held in Wakonda on October 23, 2022.

Dolores Kotab won the basket and donated it back to the children and youth fund.

As there was no further business to come before the meeting, president Linda Youngbluth adjourned the meeting.
