Greer Unit #11 American Legion Auxiliary

Greer Unit #11 American Legion Auxiliary held their monthly meeting on February 19 at the Post Home with nine members present.

The meeting was called to order by Past President Linda Youngbluth. Chaplain Margie Stone read the opening prayer. The Pledge of Allegiance and American Legion Auxiliary Preamble were recited in unison.

Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. Treasurer's report was given and approved.

Membership chairman Barbara Kucera reported we have 96 paid members. Goal is 93.

Community Service chairman Margie Stone reported appropriate cards had been sent.

Correspondence was read from District 8 President Karen Richelieu.

Pam Bastemeyer was selected as our unit's candidate for Legionette of the year.

Discussion on upcoming events: Farm, Home, and Garden Show booth on March 26, the Soup and Sandwich luncheon to be held on April 9, and Bingo at Human Services Center on April 13, 20, and 26.

The Auxiliary will be serving the meal for the March meeting to honor the Legion on their birthday. Auxiliary members will furnish salads.

The Spring District 8 meeting will be held on March 28 in Vermillion at 10 a.m. State Convention will be held in Aberdeen June 18-21.

Jeanette Fuchs won the basket and donated it back to the Children and Youth Fund.

As there was no further business to come before the meeting, Past President Linda Youngbluth adjourned the meeting.
