Greer Unit #11, American Legion Auxiliary held their monthly meeting June 20 at the Post home with eight members present.

The meeting was called to order by President Linda Youngbluth. The opening prayer was read by Chaplain Margie Stone. The Pledge of Allegiance and American Legion Preamble were recited in unison.

Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. The treasurer’s report was given and approved.

Juanita Stone made a motion to pay the bills presented, seconded by Dolores Kotab, motion carried.

Report on membership – 80 paid members, goal is 85.

Correspondence was read from the District 8 President, Karen Richlieu.

Community Service Chairman, Margie Stone reported appropriate cards had been sent.

Motion was made by Juanita Stone to use raffle money for chaperone on honor flights, seconded by Alyssa Mathis. Motion carried.

Margie Stone made motion to donate money to the Legion to help pay for redoing the floor in the upstairs of the Legion seconded by Barb Clemens. Motion carried.

Pam Bastemeyer made motion to donate the same amount as last year to the Special Olympics and Children’s Miracle Network as last year, seconded by Alyssa Mathis. Motion carried.

Margie Stone won the basket and donated it back to the children and youth fund.

There being no further business to come before the meeting. Chaplain Margie Stone read the prayer for peace and President Linda Youngbluth adjourned the meeting.
