Greer Unit #11, American Legion Auxiliary met on December 16, 2021 at the Post home with nine members and one guest present. The meeting was called to order by President Juanita Stone. The Pledge of Allegiance and American Legion Auxiliary Preamble were recited in unison.

Minutes of the previous meeting were approved as read. The Treasurer was given and approved.

Membership report was given, we have 64 paid members. Goal is 77. Continue to send dues to Barbara Kucera.

Correspondence was read from District President Ruth Williams.

Community Service chairman Margie Stone reported appropriate cards had been sent.

Thank you to members for the salads and desserts for tonight’s annual Christmas supper with the Post. Thank you to Linda Youngbluth for delivering Thanksgiving Day cards as well as Christmas cards to the Good Samaritan Center and home bound members of Auxiliary and Greer Post. Thank you’s were received from third graders for the dictionaries received from the Auxiliary. Thank you was read from Good Samaritan Foundation for the donation sent to them. Congratulations to Marlene Stone and Sandy Seiner for having their picture in the December issue of the Legionette when dictionaries were delivered to the third graders. Carol Tolliver has delivered the essay and poem contest information to the school.

District 8 meeting will be held on March 20, 2022 with location to be announced late. Department convention will be held in Watertown on June 16-19, 2022. Past president pin was presented to Kathy Geirman by President Juanita Stone.

Juanita Stone won the basket and donated it back to the children and youth fund.

As there was no further business to come before the meeting, chaplain Margie Stone read the prayer for peace and President Juanita Stone adjourned the meeting.
