Greer Post #11 American Legion held its monthly meeting January 21, 2021 at the Post Home. Commander Robert Kucera called the members to attention. Acting Chaplain Mark Wiechmann gave the invocation, which was followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. The Preamble of the Constitution of the American Legion was recited by all members.

Adjutant Rados read the minutes of the December meeting, which were approved as read.

Committee reports were given as follows: Dan Gruenwald distributed a financial report for the month of December to members, which was approved as given. Americanism: Commander Kucera reported Mid Winter Conference in Oacoma on February 19-21st is canceled, except committee and oratory contest. Boys State and Youth Trooper is still on.

Bingo is on! We will start February 7th and 1 p.m., at the Post Home.

Service Officer: Merle Stone gave sick call and relief. We also had a moment of silence for Willie Kranig and Tom Pranger.

Vice Commander Denis Clemens read a thank you from Mary Jo Kuhlman for the military services we did for Bert Cozad.

It was reported that Ron Kaylor went through chemo and radiation for cancer. He is still in the hospital.

Adjutant Rados reported our membership is 157 members paid and our goal is 172. Our newest member is Ralph Stork.

Dennis Clemens reported VA in Sioux Falls is giving Covid shots. Need to get second shot in 28 days after first one.

Commander Kucera reported next month we must pick a Post Legionnaire of the Year from our Post. We will also need to turn in sold tickets for our annual sweepstakes.

Acting Chaplain Mark Wiechmann gave the final prayer.

The meeting was adjourned in due form.

After the meeting, Harris Haar brought us three pizzas and the Auxiliary brought in bars and cookies. A huge thank you to them.
