Greer Post #11 American Legion held its monthly meeting July 16, 2020 at the Post Home. Commander Robert Kucera called the members to attention. Acting Chaplain Tom Cartney gave the invocation, which was followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. The Preamble to the Constitution of the American Legion was recited by all members.

Adjutant Rados read the minutes of the June meeting which were approved as read.

Financial Report: Dan Gruenwald distributed a financial report for the month of June to members, which was approved as given.

Service Officer: Merle Stone gave sick call and relief.

Legion Riders: Bruce Specketer reported they kept the same officers. They will go on a Labor Day ride starting in Wagner's Legion Building with coffee and rolls, they will they go west to Burke, Gregory, Platte and Dock 44.

Fall District 8 meeting will be September 27 at Wakonda, social at 1 p.m., followed by meeting at 2 p.m.

Commender Kucera reported Corey's asked if the Legion wanted them to do Bingo in the Post Home over Labor Day. It was voted on and no bingo will be held in Legion Post Home over Labor Day.

Legion members also voted and passed, to not have an American Legion food stand on Main Street this year over Labor Day weekend.

Commander Kucera reported Merle and Robert will take the Legion Jeep to Scotland on August 8 for the parade at 1:30 p.m.

Discussed about giving new cemetery board a donation. New board is Mike Frei, Mike Medricky and Linda Youngbluth. They are working on taking care of former ZCBJ Cemetery.

Jay Youngbluth reported there is a lot of white Styrofoam on the east side of our Post Home which needs to be removed.

Jerry Seiner reported there is a phone number 211 Health Line available for everyone in South Dakota to call and ask any questions you have.

VA travel endorsement should be done on-line. You will need to wear a mask.

Burial in new state cemetery in Sioux Falls should start the end of this year.

The VA Clinic is Wagner is now open with a limit of three members at a time.

Acting Chaplain Tom Cartney gave the final prayer. The meeting adjourned in due form.
